French and foreign government scholarships
Publié le : 10 Mai 2011 | Classé dans Scholarship
0 You will need at least €750 per month if you are to enjoy reasonable living conditions in Paris. You will therefore need to seek sources of finance. You should begin looking for a scholarship well in advance (at least a year before coming to France). Scholarship amounts depend on your level of studies. Postgraduate students, engineers and researchers receive larger scholarships.
You should begin by looking at scholarships awarded by the French government and by your country of origin.
FRENCH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
// Foreign Ministry scholarships:
French government scholarships for foreign students are invariably awarded by the Foreign Ministry. They concern priority areas of training that relate to needs expressed by foreign governments. They are aimed primarily at postgraduate students and postdoctorands.
Beneficiaries are selected on the basis of academic, and not social, criteria.
For details of scholarships available in your country, contact the Cooperation and Cultural Affairs department of your local French embassy.

// Foreign Ministry excellence scholarships:
A number of excellence scholarship programmes have been set up in order to enable French third-level institutions to enrol the best foreign students.
These include:
- the Eiffel programme, which is aimed at the best foreign students wishing to continue their studies in France at Master's or Doctorate level in the engineering sciences, economics & management or law & political science.

> or they can give proof of the fact that one of the parents (i.e.
father, mother or legal guardian) received incomes in France.
- foreign (non-EU) students who have been resident in France for at least two years AND whose tax household (i.e. father, mother or legal guardian) has been in France for at least two years.
