The Ile-de-France Region offers scholarships to students of 16 different nationalities (in some cases, to those from cities with which the Region has signed priority cooperation agreements, and, in other cases, to those from any part of the countries concerned) who wish to study for a Master in a higher-education institution in Ile-de-France.
Eligibility conditions:
- At the time of application, be validly registered with one of the higher-education institutions in the decentralised cooperation zone of one's country of origin, i.e.:
city of Montreal (Canada), city of Budapest (Hungary), city of Beirut (Lebanon), city of Antananarivo (Madagascar), region of Greater Casablanca (Morocco), city of Warsaw - region of Masovia (Poland), city of Dakar (Senegal) or city of Hanoi (Vietnam).
This requirement concerns all institutions for the following countries:
South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, India, Mali, Mauritania and Russia.
- Be a citizen of the country in question.

have a good command of French (both oral and written).

Be registered for a Master programme (M1 or M2) in a higher-education institution in Ile-de-France (i.e. in one of the following départements: Paris, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Seine-et-Marne, Val-de-Marne, Val-d'Oise or Yvelines).
Type and amount:
The Master Ile-de-France scholarship, which amounts to
€10,100 annually (before deduction of the cost of accommodation at Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris - amount for the year 2008-2009) may be awarded for a period of one year for M2 or two years for M1 followed by acceptance in M2.
All beneficiaries of this scholarship
must reside at Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP).
Formalities:
You must contact the French embassy with responsibility for the country or zone concerned.
Applications are generally submitted
from January (e.g. January 2009 for the 2009-2010 academic year).
The French embassies, local consulates or representatives of the decentralised cooperation zones concerned transfer the dossiers of the shortlisted applicants to the Ile-de-France Region for examination by a regional commission.
